See How Jewelry Designers Are Incorporating 2023 Fashion Trends: Tassels and Magenta
We’re talking about fashion trends today, specifically tassels and magenta.
In November 2022, “Women’s Wear Daily (WWD)” reported that tassels and fringe frequently appeared on the spring 2023 runways. Then in early December, Pantone named Viva Magenta its 2023 Color of the Year.
Jewelry designers Vicky Gkarmiri, Lynn Woods and Melissa Panszi-Riebe shared how they’re incorporating the looks into their collections. Each maker has a distinct design aesthetic, so it’s fun to see how they interpret the trends for their customers.
Vicky is the founder of Next Door Goddess, a line of “Mediterranean-inspired boho-luxe jewelry.”
“Tassels are among my favorite jewelry design elements. They bring a bohemian, ethnic flair but also elongate the shape of the design. Regardless of the trends, a final touch of playful, feminine flair is the ultimate addition to your summer style. Nothing like a shoulder-duster earring and an off-shoulder top to boost those Goddess vibes! Especially in my custom designer pieces, and the resort collections, tassels are a staple in all seasons,” said Vicky.
Lynn is the bling artist behind Back to the South Bling, which features sparkly accessories, drinkware, apparel and gifts, including shimmering tassel earrings.
“My customers love the bold and vibrant colors. They also love that with the shimmer, they are perfect to dress up a simple outfit such as jeans and a t-shirt or when they dress up for GNO or date night,” said Lynn.
Melissa founded A D’Zine, a collection of artisan-made, one-of-a-kind jewelry.
The designer shared that she was excited to see magenta as Pantone’s Color of the Year. “It may be intimidating to wear such a bright color. I love it—others may shy away, but incorporating it into your jewelry is an easy, less-intimidating way to wear the trend.”
